Hi anyone with this workstation  I'd be  grateful to hear if anyone has had success installing a second ssd internally .

 

I know the official response is no that is  not supported, but the fact is, there is an unused pcie express port on the mobo in these with what looks like enough room for a nvme pcie M2 card ssd of the 2242 size. 

 

That would enable me to have a separate media drive awy from the boot drive which would speed up my mobile video applications a lot.

 

I am dual booting Linux/W10 at the moment and am looking to increase onboard storage .

 

Also interested in any solutions people are utilising via thunderbolt/docking etc. for fast access to media.
