I have installed various drivers but to no avail. The graphics card does not want to appear even though the video card is installed on the motherboard. What exactly is the problem? I do not understand?!!

Hello, I am facing a big problem with the AMD Radeon HD 8750M graphics card on my HP Elitebook 840 G1. The computer has various features, but the graphics card does not want to work and does not appear in the Device Manager, and it does not appear with CPU-Z either. I updated the BIOS chip to The latest version is 1.49, but to no avail. I want a solution to this problem. I am very tired.

Hello.

HP 840 G1 was available with optional HD 8750 graphics. Not all system boards have this chip. The graphics chip is embedded on the motherboard, it cannot be removed or replaced. Have you visually inspected that the graphics chip is actually there?

Has it worked before?

I remember a case with a HP Zbook 14 about 10 years ago, when the AMD Firepro 4100M discrete graphics just disappeared. (Zbook 14 is just a souped up 840 G1, and the AMD 4100M is really just HD 8750M - both share the same service manual)

The user had been playing with HP Performance Advisor and somehow managed to disable the AMD graphics. Permanently. HP ended up replacing the system board, so if that's the case with your laptop, you may need to replace the system board if you can't live without the AMD graphics.
