I recently purchased an HP ZBook 17, but I've been encountering an issue where it randomly shuts down unexpectedly, particularly during activities like gaming. At one point, it got so severe that the laptop would only briefly flash the turn-on light before shutting down repeatedly, ultimately damaging the battery. Now, the battery isn't detected when I open the laptop, rendering it unusable without the power adapter. I would appreciate any assistance or insights into resolving this issue. Thank you.

Hello.
There have been several generations of HP ZBook 17, earliest models were made a decade ago. Please provide exact model number or the generation. ('G5' for example). Fn+ESC key combination or msinfo32.exe in Windows should show the model number. Or enter the BIOS to see the the Model type and serial number.
In any case, if your recently bought laptop has warranty left - you should contact HP to have your laptop serviced.
Computer shutting down under heavy usage - I recommend monitoring your laptop temperatures while stressing it. HWInfo is a good software for monitoring CPU and GPU temperatures. If you can reproduce the problem easily, pay attention to the temperatures just when the computer turns off. Perhaps your cooling vents are blocked by debris, cat hair and whatnot and the fan cannot push air to cool the laptop?
Make sure you are using the correct power supply for your model, Zbook 17 models are typically power hungry. Your laptop bottom may (or may not) have the power input requirements printed on it. Type your laptop serial number into the search field on HP Partsurfer to show what power supply your laptop was provided with originally.
