Elitebook 850 G4
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello,

I've just bought a new Elitebook 850 G4 and attempted to register it in order to activate the 3-year warranty. Unfortunately, a warranty check by my device's serial number shows that the warranty was already started in June 2017 and there are only 14 months remaining. I saw that other people here have poste about similar issues with incorrect start dates of the warranties for their new laptops too.

Why is this so?

I bought the product as brand new from the vendor and can provide a receipt for the payment I've made through PayPal, if needed.

I hope that an HP representative will actually see this and get in touch with me to solve this issue.

P.S. It is also kind of inconvenient that you can't get in touch with proper HP support directly through phone or chat, but instead you can only use this forum.

I have brought your issue to the attention of an appropriate team within HP. They will likely request information from you in order to look up your case details or product serial number. Please look for a private message from an identified HP contact. Additionally, keep in mind not to publicly post personal information (serial numbers and case details).

If you are unfamiliar with how the Community's private message capability works, you can learn about that here.
Thank you for visiting the HP Support Community.
