Laptop crashes accompanied by static sound when streaming/gaming

HP Recommended
Hp EliteBook 840 G3
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Any time I am doing something requiring a slightly higher-than-average use of RAM (like streaming or gaming) the computer almost always shuts down after a few minuets, accompanied by a really loud static sound. Sometimes it gets stuck in a boot-loop, where it restarts, only to shut down immediately after logging on. Eventually, the system detects something wrong, and redirects me to advanced startup options. This happens whether or not the laptop is plugged in to an outlet.

What I have tried:

Running RAM/ SSD diagnostics on the boot menu: always comes back clean

Updating drivers/ OS

Reinstalling Steam/Chrome

Reinstalling Windows
