HP Recommended

Hello. My HP da0097nv does not turn on when I remove the battery. The power light is white though with the power cord plugged in. When I place back the battery, it turns on normally. ( Please also note that the diagnostics say that the battery needs replacement so I want to use the laptop without the battery). Any idea what to do ?
