Hello,

My laptop was working fine until this afternoon, then closed the lid and put it to sleep and carried it home and when I got home it wouldn't turn on or do anything (nothing lights up, etc). The only thing that happens is that of it's plugged in or has a battery in there it makes a constant quiet high-pitched humming noise that does not seem to be coming from the fan (it's loudest at the base of the computer on the side opposite of the fan. Maybe my hard drive is there? I believe it was refurbished with a solid state drive if that is relevant). The noise doesn't stop or start if I press the power button, it just keeps going whenever it's plugged in or has a battery.

Is this fixable? Is there any way I can fix this at home?

The laptop is an HP elite book folio 9470m
