Microsoft Windows 11

Great, thanks for this last post from several years ago.  I am running Windows 11 on a new X2 Elite G8 i7 and this little box appeared after several updates in Windows 10.  Glad to hear it is normal and actually functional specifically for tablet and 2-in1 HPs.

Cheers,

Hi,

Thank you for posting in the HP Support Community.

You need to be more specific about which box you refer to, may be take a picture and post it back.

There is a touchscreen in the Elite X2 G8 tablet PC. I can think of a box like icon which appears during the preboot screen/POST-BIOS screen when the computer invites you to press it in order to active on-screen keyboard during preboot. This is normal.

However, as mentioned, I can only be sure after you provide more clarification and/or picture. Thanks

Thanks for your reply!  Here is a screen shot of the small box at the bottom of the screen at startup...IMG_0039.jpg

Hi,

Yes, this is what I was thinking of originally. It is normal and kind of "reminding you" or attracting your attention to the fact you can use the touch screen keyboard by pressing the button
