HP ZBook 15 G6
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello all,

As a new employee, I was given a HP ZBook 15 G6. For my day to day operation, it seems like a decent machine.

The one software that I use 90%+ of the time makes intensive use of the <INS> key, which is unfortunately missing from that keyboard. Thanks to some people in the community here, I was able to learn that Fn + E  effectively replaces <INS>.

I just registered here to rant about the absolute horror of a keyboard layout on that laptop. The "split" UP/DN arrow keys are one of the silliest way I've seen such keys implemented on a keyboard. The <SHFT> key on the left is so very tiny that I keep pressing the '«' key at the same time. The F12 and above keys are mapped to god knows what.

Anyway, with such a crappy keyboard, I asked my employer for an external one, which they gave me in the blink of an eye. I guess they are used to people not liking those keyboards.

Tiny details like this make me miss my Dell Precision 7730 keyboard. Unfortunately, this company has a h*rd-on on HP computers. So very disappointing.

Anyway HP, if one of your employee should ever decide to read those posts, you might feel like passing it on upward.

Cheerios!
