Since I purchased my HP Elite X2 1012 G2 I have suffered the same phantom power drain when the laptop is turned off like others. I have done everything humanly possible to determine why I get a 5-8% drain daily when the power is off - took out any SD cards, complete shut down, did multiple power tests and reports. I am far from the only one and saw it appear often on the G1 model. My battery was even replaced once just to see if that is the issue, as was my keyboard. On my Dell laptops, no power drain like this, which empties a full battery without any use at all in about 1 week. It's such a liability that I can never take it on the road without making sure it is first fully charged since charging it a day or two earlier may show a massive drain even without use.
I've had support on the phone several times, none of them could explain what this phantom power leak is. Has anyone been able to detect the nature of the problem? As I mentioned, at this point, I'm very hestitant to buy again these types of devices from HP with this type of experience with an otherwise excellent piece of hardware.

I've just noticed that even more Elite X2 owners replies are contained in an archive that is no longer visible. I'll be honest- this battery drain / power drain issue is one that holds me back from getting another tablet since having it completely off, even with the keyboard detached, seems to result in an ongoing power drain of 5-10% daily. Would really love to see if someone has diagnosed this issue and I haven't seen any response in years.
