HP ProBook 460 16" G11 Notebook [A1LH5UT]
Microsoft Windows 11

I recently purchased a new HP ProBook 460 16" G11 Notebook [A1LH5UT]

I just received it today. Before I even opened the box I ran the serial number displayed on the label and found that the factory warranty only had 4 months and 6 days remaining!! Start Date: July 22 2024 End Date: July 21 2025

Why is this? How do I fix it?

I notified a moderator of the warranty problem.

If you did not register your product with HP when you bought it then the warranty you are seeing is based on date of manufacture, not date of purchase. You can update the warranty status by contacting HP and providing a proof of purchase.

If you purchased a used or refurbished system you need to check with the vendor (which could be HP).

Thanks for the quick reply! That makes sense that maybe it was because I had not yet registered the product.

So I registered the product, it now shows up in the My Device dashboard but sadly the Warranty Status is unchanged.

I tried contacting HP Support via phone but received a recording that they are "experiencing higher than normal call volume" and I should call back another time. So I tried Chat support and was told that I should resolve this with the place of purchase.

Quote: I request you to reach out to them to resolve the issue with the warranty dates, as this a very new unit, it should not have warranty issue, and the unit is under 30 days replacement warranty.

The same happened to me.

I need to have my warranty period corrected in the system to fulfill the legal requirements.

HP 250 G10 - purchase date: 15.Apr.2025 in Germany.

Thanks

I'm sorry to hear that you have the same problem.  ☹️

I don't know how to resolve the problem in Germany but perhaps you can try the HP Carepak Registration page or contact the HP CarePak consumer phone line [US] @ 800-407-6210 or email SRG@HP.com , hopefully one of those sources can direct you to the proper EU department to get this corrected. Good luck!!
