New models Windows 7 drivers

All
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

Hello,

We are currently evaluating our enduser workstations options for the next 2 years.

I am wondering how long we will be able to get Windwos 7 drivers for the new workstations?

Till the end of the Microsoft extended support lifecycle or before?

I have tried to find the info online but no success so far... I keep searching...

Thanks in advance for your help.

New models Windows 7 drivers

Hi:

On models with the newest Intel and AMD chipsets and processors, there is only support for W10 64 bit.

Intel/AMD did not develop drivers for these new chipsets and processors, and Microsoft refuses to support any other OS but W10 on these new platforms.

And if you manage to install W7 on them, Microsoft is blocking any security updates.

You can read this article (and otherrs on the net) for more information.

Now you can go through a lot of work with no guarantee of success, and modify the graphics drivers as indicated in this discussion.

So, what you need to be looking at is to either retain your fleet of current PC's or don't go beyond those with the Skylake chipsets, or begin planning to upgrade your corporate network to W10 to allow the new PC technology to work.

Selecting another PC company would be fruitless because they will all be in the same boat.
