Hello community.

Unfortunately my brand new notebook is shutting down suddenly when it operates with heavy graphics with discrete video chip Geforce MX130 on board. The load is produced by some gaming process (I know that device was not designed for such purposes but I didn't find any warning about it). I've made assumption that it's happening due to cooling system which can't deal with spreading so much heat produced by CPU and MX130 simultaneously. I know that it could not be expected case since I run my system under Linux which is not officially supported. But my question is does anyone else facing with the same issue on Windows 10?

Also I think it happening because discrete video chip MX130 and CPU are both connected to common heating pipe. Does it make sense?

PS: When I use integrated Intel HD Graphics the issue is not reproducible.

 

My laptop hardware configuration:

HP Probook 440 G6

CPU: Intel® Core™ i7-8565U

Graphics: Intel UHD Graphics 620 and NVIDIA GeForce MX130 (2 GB DDR5 dedicated)

Memory:16 GB DDR4-2400 SDRAM (16 GB x 1) single channel

Storage: Primary M.2 Solid State Drive storage 512 GB
