Hi @Aford13,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP OfficeJet Pro 8710 is prompting you to visit www.hpinstantink.com and not printing, it likely indicates an issue related to your HP Instant Ink subscription or a problem with the printer’s setup. Here’s a step-by-step guide to help resolve this issue:
**1. Check HP Instant Ink Subscription Status
Visit HP Instant Ink Website:
- Go to HP Instant Ink and log in with your HP account credentials.
- Check your subscription status and ensure that your plan is active and there are no issues with your account.
Update Payment Information:
- If there is an issue with payment or billing, update your payment information on the HP Instant Ink website.
Order Ink Cartridges:
- If you are out of ink, HP Instant Ink should automatically send you new cartridges. Verify if new cartridges are on the way or order replacements if necessary.
**2. Verify Printer Connection and Settings
Check Printer Status:
- Make sure the printer is turned on and connected to your network. Check the control panel for any error messages.
Verify Connection:
- Ensure your printer is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your computer or device.
Restart Printer and Router:
- Restart your HP OfficeJet Pro 8710 and your router. Sometimes, a simple restart can resolve connectivity issues.
**3. Check Ink Cartridge Installation
Open Cartridge Access Door:
- Open the ink cartridge access door and make sure the cartridges are properly installed and seated.
Check Cartridge Status:
- Ensure that the cartridges are not empty or low on ink. If needed, replace them with new cartridges.
Clean Cartridge Contacts:
- Gently clean the contacts on the cartridges and inside the printer with a lint-free cloth to remove any dust or residue.
**4. Update Printer Firmware
- Download Firmware Updates:
- Visit the HP Support website and search for your HP OfficeJet Pro 8710.
- Download and install the latest firmware updates for your printer.
**5. Reinstall Printer Drivers and Software
Uninstall Existing Drivers:
- Go to System Preferences > Printers & Scanners (on macOS) or Devices
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
