Anyone installed the latest hotkey 6.2.20 but fn+esc , fn+brightness doesnt work but fn+volume works?

I tried with this latest version as well, no go. fn+brightness does not work, the rest work properly.

Any solution to that?

Same problem with the Hotkeys fn+f5 and fn+f6 not working for brightness.

Also, did anyone have a clear solution for the Conexant SmartAudio HD driver prompting UAC after install? Or did everyone just remove the drivers from SCCM and install the standard MS drivers?

Hi, the solution for the UAC prompt (which I had with 840 G2 as well) is to make a VB-script that run in the task sequence after all the packages is installed.

This will set the regvalue so that it's not considered to be needed a configuration which prompts the UAC in the first place.

'Disable NewDev for HDAudio Realtek on HP EliteBook 840 G3
objStdRegProv.SetDWORDValue HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE,"SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Enum\HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_10EC&DEV_0280&SUBSYS_103C2347&REV_1000\4&6eba6c&0&0001","ConfigFlags", "0"

You might want to double check your machines so the device ID is the same as above, else just replace it with yours.

There is an issue with the HP Hotkey Support program.  It says that it installs utilizing the SDM but it doesn't actually install.  Downloading the exe from the website and double clicking it presents an error that it's unable to save the file to the path that it wants to under ProgramData.  Clicking OK gives you the option to save elsewhere.   I assume this is what's causing the issue with the SDM installation as well.

Installing HP Hotkey Support manually and remapping where it extracts when the error pops up resolves the issue for the LAN/WAN Switching on all of the 840 G3's I've tried it on.   Unfortunately, that's not a very scalable resolution and HP needs to fix the underlying issuewith the installation for the HP Hotkey Support.

SP74473 showed up in my updated SDM this morning as a HotKey Support Software Solution.   SDM version 4.3.4.0 SSM version 3.2.4.1.

Installing this softpaq has allowed all the keys (except the wireless button) to work correctly in Windows 7 Enterprise x64.

This softpaq install for Windows 10 x64 LTSB has allowed all but the "microphone mute" hotkey to work.  In Windows 10 the wireless button works (turns airplane mode on/off) but doesn't change color to orange when doing so.

After installing the 1.05 A 1 BIOS (SP75413) and the SP76114 Intel video drivers, the re-installing the SlimDock drivers (SP75855) has slowed the blinking monitor issue to 1-2 a day.

It seems to be all version of the HotKeys Softpaq for myself with Windows Enterprise x64 and on the HP 840G3. Specifically, the brightness keys (fn+F5 and fn+F6). All other functions work correctly.

We have G1 models in our organisation and the hotkeys software works okay (although function keys are in different postions).

Here are some comments you may find useful (in bold😞

Installing this softpaq has allowed all the keys (except the wireless button) to work correctly in Windows 7 Enterprise x64.  Windows 7 wireless button issues have not been reported with this version of Hotkey Support

This softpaq install for Windows 10 x64 LTSB has allowed all but the "microphone mute" hotkey to work. Hotkey Support simply enable the Mic mute button.  Functions are handled by the audio driver.  In Windows 10 the wireless button works (turns airplane mode on/off) but doesn't change color to orange when doing so.  In Windows 10, wireless button and LED color are controlled by Wireless Button Driver.  Make sure they have the driver installed from Softpaq and not from automatic update.

Confirmed.

My 840 G3 running Windows 7 Enterprise x64 had a BIOS configuration error (WLAN disabled (d'oh)) that was preventing the wireless button from functioning.   At this time all the hotkeys and buttons perform correctly on this laptop.

My 840 G3 running Windows 10 Enterprise 2015 x64 LTSB was missing several updated drivers which resolved the microphone mute hotkey and wireless button color-change issues.  At this time, all of the hotkeys and buttons are performing correctly on this laptop.

As an FYI, changing the amount of video RAM in BIOS from 32k to 512k, on top of making sure the video drivers, slim dock firmware and BIOS was up-to-date, has resolved my monitor blink issue.
