Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I want to upgrade the Ram for HP 15-af024au the reason to upgrade is that my laptop is very slow after upgraded with windows 10

 

currently it has the stock 4GB DDR3 1Rx8 PC3L - 12800S - 11 - 13 - B4 model I want to upgrade it. I have 2 questions

 

1. can I use 8 GB along with the stock 4 GB will I get good speed or should I buy two 8 GB Ram


2. what are the suggest-able or tested ram that I can use. Please share the model number, amazon India link and further more details so that I can purchase it online or offline stores.

The specs of your machine is

It has  4 GB DDR3L-1600 SDRAM (1 x 4 GB) now and supports 16GB (z x 8GB) max. You can upgrade to

 

(a)  8GB using same existing 4GB and add to slot 2 or using the following compatible RAM

           https://www.crucial.com/memory/ddr3/ct51264bf160b/ct9745140

(b) 12GB (your question😞 add 8GB to slot 2 using the following compatible RAM

           https://www.crucial.com/memory/ddr3/ct102464bf160b/ct9745115      (machine won't run Dual channels)

(c) 16GB: install 8GB each to both slot using the following compatible RAM

So if I update with 2 8 GB DDR then the system will use full 16 GB and run as dual channels?

 

My system is very slow after windows 10 upgrade from the stock windows 8.1 do you think this issue will be sorted out.

 

For your information, I have completely rebooted the system. All the files and folders, softwares are deleted but still the system behaves slow and have a lag.
