I have a very similar problem in that i just purchased a Spectre x360 and am using it as substitute desktop.  When i close the lid, i can't wake it up with  an outboard keyboard or mouse. I'm using a wireless keyboard and mouse that i just took off a lenovo, so I know they are good.  Tried them directly into the USB port since the hub didn't work. Neither work.

Chatted with HP support after trying all of the typical "allow this device to wakeup the computer" ploys, none of which work. Tech tried them again remotely then wanted to do a system restore to which I said "no".

All the posts i see offer no solution from HP.  No reply to the last subject post on this site. What is going on?  This should be a no-brainer. This situation needs to be fixed.
