HP Recommended

I'm having the same issue. After updating all the necessary firmware and Bios (instructions provided officially from HP), we contacted HP and a technician came onsite to check the laptop.

He noticed the problem and changed the motherboard of the laptop but still the laptop was too much noisy. So he updated the Bios and confirmed that the problem hasn't been solved. He suggested to change the fans as well. So he ordered them and after almost two weeks another technician from HP came to change the fans.

After changing the fans the noise was a bit reduced but it still is annoying.

He told they had changed the hardware that could cause this problem (motherboard and the fans) and he doesn't think that it is a hardware problem.

In the company where I work, we have another HP ZBook 15 and that laptop as well has more noise than other models that we have.

The technician thought this may be due to the fact that this model has two fans but the other models may have only one and that may be the reason for noticing more noise.

We also have some problems with docking station G2, which doesn't work properly.

First the docking station had a problem with the port. Since it was in warranty it was changed, but the problem remained. I was told that the problem may be due to the motherboard. Since the motherboard has been changed this problem is resolved.

However, most of the times some devices that are connected to the docking station are not recognized by laptop. I updated the firmware of docking station and the things changed a bit but after two days, again we had the same issues.

In addition, the technician noticed that when we connected the docking station, the fans were making more noise.

All in all, the noisy fans' problem is not solved.

Hope this piece of information helps the others.
