Remaining warranty is wrong for notebook

HP Recommended
HP 250 G6
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I checked my notebook's remaining warranty at the HP Customer Support site and found that it's about three months shorter than it ought to be.  I was not displayed the link to dispute the warranty.  How do I correct the amount of remaining warranty please?  Thank you.

Allow me to welcome you to the HP forums!

Sorry, but this is just a community self-help forum staffed mostly by volunteers and we are not authorized to deal with warranty issues.

The PC comes with the initial warranty date set at the factory to be the date of manufacture.  You hace to Register it to reset that date.  IF you have done that, and the end date still has not changed, you will have to contact HP Customer Support to have them deal with that issue.

If you live in the US or Canada, contact information is on this page:

If you live elsewhere, contact information is on this page:

NOTE: After you get through, stay on the line until you are finally able to talk to some one -- it can take a while!

If you have trouble finding a phone number, then try: 1 (800) 474-6836

However, HP Customer Support is generally not available on the weekends, so you might have to wait until Monday to contact them.

Hi, @spiderplant

For some odd reason, HP starts the warranty clock ticking the minute the notebook leaves the factory, instead of the customer registering the product, and entering the purchase date, serial number, etc, on a registration form.

So the longer the PC sits in a retailer's warehouse (even if it is HP's), the shorter time there is left on the warranty.

Then you have to go through the process of contacting HP to get the warranty start and end dates adjusted, as well as the initial setup start and end dates.

You can begin the process by contacting HP for the country you live in a the link below...

You can also try to submit an online support case by registering at the link below.

Otherwise, you can e-mail the HP Executive Team at the link below, and ask them to have a CSR get in contact with you by e-mail.

You are going to need to have access to your purchase receipt or invoice to get the warranty start and end dates adjusted.

The HP rep will send you a link to upload a copy of that documentation, once you get a hold of someone.
