Product: HP Zbook x360 G5
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)
I purchased a Zbook x360 g5 for professional design work therefore the 2 in 1 capabilities as well as the color accuracy of the display were important factors influencing my decision. Unfortunately, the first unit came with a faulty hinge that could not be flipped. Upon contacting HP customer service I got a replacement unit.
But to my dismay, when I turned the second unit on, their heavily advertised color accurate 4k dream-color display (ironically) came with a neon green stuck pixel right smack near the center of the screen. I contacted HP customer support immediately but after 3 weeks of transferring me between departments and "asking to escalate the issue" they came back with the reply that it can't be claimed under warranty because it is not a defect.
Is HP for real? Charging $3.6k USD for their premium workstation line laptops, both of which were defective out of the box and I am expected to either live with it, or pay an additional amount to rectify the issue. I purchased this over the Spectre x360 in hopes of better reliability and support and I have to say I am truly appalled at the quality control and also the nonchalance of the support staff with regards to this issue.
Would appreciate it anyone here can provide any help with the warranty terms for professional displays or if there is any fix for the screen problem.
