Scam by HP retailer

Hi good day 

I bought a probook laptop from retailer 

He claimed laptop brand new 

It's got 3 years warranty 

But I couldn't register for warranty plan 

Then I go to warranty checked 

It's showing 3 year bundled warranty is active since July 2923

I checked with retailer 

He said that is manufacturing date no worry you will get warranty email from HP in 14 days 

His product return policy also only 14 days 

What does it means ?

Is it possible that manufacturing date is showing warranty period?

Please clear my doubt
