I am a professional web developer.  Every 2 or 3 years I buy a new desktop and laptop for my business.  I have a hard time deciding on the type of laptop to buy, so I am asking any other web/graphics designer for suggestions.  Anyone can help?

For web alone, you don't need a powerful machine but for graphics you need a poer hungry machine.  Please read the following articles

I don't play games, only playing around with my grandchildren photos and videos (up to 4K) and I'm using a top end (last year) HP Omen 15" machine.

Regards.

if you are developing for business, then i would encourage you to look at a zbook, maybe a studio (up to a xeon 6-core option) if you need dual drives and better 3d graphics, or a zbook 15u (up to an i7) for a slimmer, lighter version still with discrete graphics

as for desktops, i would encourage you to look at the z2, maybe the mini version, that can be configured with dual drives, and up to 3 different graphics options (although can't be replaced in the future), or a z2 SFF where more configuration options are available... you can get up to a Xeon proc on the z2

I work for HP. However, all opinions and comments are my own.
