HP EliteBook 640 14 inch G9 Notebook PC (4D0Y2AV)

Hi,

I set up my home office around my work laptop, EliteBook 640.  I have 2 external monitors, 1 connected to my HDMI and the other through USB-C port.

Everything was working fine up until the end of January.

I went on annual leave for a week, and when I came back, my 2nd monitor no longer works.

I hadn't changed anything.

Drivers seem up to date, as does windows. I've checked cables and even tried a different monitor, the port no longer supports an external monitor!

I've read the USB-C usage doc. and it says powers 'display port'.

Previously when I travelled into headoffice I'd connect to external monitor through the USB-C and it worked fine.

Any suggestions HP?  This extremely frustrating and time consuming.

Did you ever get a solution for this? I'm experiencing the same issue.

Nope.  No response from HP at all and no solution found.

Weirdly, I went on annual leave for a few days, came back and it was working again for about a week.  Then went into the office and it randomly stopped working.

I have raised it with my work IT support and they've never heard of the issue. I personally think it's something to do with updates and power distribution settings.

I've got an Elitebook and for the cost it should be able to power a monitor, especially when plugged in.

Did yours stop entirely or work randomly like mine?
