HP Elitebook 840 G6

I have a HP Elitebook 840 G6. When I am at my office desk, I have this connected through an HP docking station via USB-C, which then connects to 2 high resolution monitors via display ports. Originally both monitors were not allowing me to use 2560x1080 resolution at the same time, this was fixed once I enabled the bios "Enable High Resolution Mode when connected to a USB-C DP alt mode dock." Everything has been great since then.

I travel frequently and want to be able to connect my laptop to a small portable monitor when I am away from my desk. I purchased the ASUS ZenScreen MB16ACV but it will not work via USB-C connection with my laptop. However, if I un-enable the bios setting, it works perfectly.

Is there a workaround, or another portable monitor I can purchase, that will work via USB-C if the bios setting for high resolution is enabled?
