Hi,
I have a HP Spectre x360 Convertible 15-bl1XX.
l also have a WD Blue 1TB USB HD which l've owned before l brought my Spectre and there is stuff on the USB drive that l want to put on the laptop.
But everytime l connect l connect the hd to the laptop, I get the windows connect sound and after small delay i get the window's disconnect sound and a pop up message telling me the drive is not recognised.
I have updated the BIOS and Windows's drivers but still no go
Has anybody recognised this issue and have a solution?
in
PS: I think this posted on the area, l'll repost in the note book and operating systems area

As you have mentioned that other devices work fine on the same USB port that confirms an issue with the WD hard drive and I recommend you contact there support.

Welcome to the HP Support Community!
I assure you I will try my best to get this sorted.
In order that I may provide you with an accurate solution, I will need a few more details and I would appreciate if you could, perhaps elaborate on your concern.
- What is the product number of your computer?
- Is the hard drive getting detected on a different computer?
- Have you tried different USB ports on the computer?
- Have you performed any troubleshooting steps before posting?
Look forward to hearing from you and you have a great day!
Take care.
Cheers!
