Webcam issue - Elitebook 1040 G3

I'm having issues with a new (to me) Elitebook Folio 1040 G3.

The built in webcam will run for a few seconds, then the light goes off and the image window goes blank. After a few seconds, I may get another brief image before it cuts out again.

I've tried various drivers, including the latest universal camera driver (2015.10.19041.1 Rev.A , dated Aug 16, 2020). All give the same issue.

Windows version is Windows 10 Pro,  Version 20H2

BIOS version is N83 Ver. 01.51 - 10/21/2020

I have tested the webcam under linux and it works fine, so I'm confident there is no hardware issue
