HP ZBook 15 G6 - 119U1EA#ABF
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi,

I have a HP ZBook 15 G6 - 119U1EA#ABF still under warranty.

Last friday, I got a bios update that I had not requested but it installed automatically (may be I clicked to quickly ok on a message box) ... It was R92 Ver. 01.09.00 - 04/27/2021. Anyway

This morning, on skype, my webcam was not working at all. I did not have time to check anything. One hour later, it worked fine on Teams !!! and now, not anymore.

When I open the camera software, I get a message "0xA00F4244<NoCamerasAreAttached">

It does not appear in the Device Manager under "Image Device" Section.

But I have a non working device which I guess is the webcam. It is a "Unknown USB device (Descriptor request failed)" (translated from french).

I tried to uninstall and reinstall the unknown device from the device manager => No success

I checked on HP support assistant and updated evertything => No success

I installed manually the last webcam driver (downlowding it from HP web site) => No success

I checked in BIOS if something could lead to that.=> No success

I desactivated and reactivated the webcam from the BIOS => No success

I really don't think it is a hardware issue and I would rather not to have to re-install everything, especially, if it is a firmware issue (in which case reinstalling everything would not have any effect)

How can I roll back on firmware ?

What would you recommend ?

Thanks a lot in advance for your help.

Antoine
