Why are manufacturers websites so difficult to navigate?

HP Recommended

They are all bad.  HP is among the most frustrating.    Lenovo, Dell, Asus, Acer... all chocked with flash and color without a useful breakout option in sight.

Any major reseller offers far better.    Google shopping.  Amazon.   B&H Photo,  Newegg, and many others offer menu asides to break out the entire offering by screen size and resolution,  CPU, GPU,  ports available, etc...  This enables identifing models you might be interested ACROSS product lines such as elitebook,  probook,  spectre, etc.   And all the major manuf sites seem equally bad at providing this.    Very very frustrating.  Or is part of the marketing strategy to keep one searching the site longer?  Its actually ironic that the manufacturers of these incredibly flexible and powerful laptop processing machines have such poorly developed websites.

Or am I missing something.
