I have three Zbooks and the current one that I am using right at the moment is Z Book 15 G3.
I would like to thank HP for such a horrible portable workstation product with price range of more than 2.5k$. I would like to suggest this product to everyone wanting such an unstable device. Everytime you boot up this device, you must be praying to whichever god you believe in for making this thing turn on successfully.
My current setup is this Z Book’s on board HDMI connected to an external monitor and the Z Book is closed. I also use a docking station from official HP, the power input goes from the docking station to the Laptop. Everything I use is from HP. No third party accessories besides mouse and keyboard. Even Windows is from its original packaging DVD.
Everytime I unplug the power line, the Monitor is disconnected automatically and the laptop screen is turned on even if the laptop is closed. I get that. I now kind of learned how to make this thing work again in that situation. Thanks for my CSE Major for such problem solving.
Q1.
However this time it is different. The power button on the docking station is blinking. Long ON - short OFF this pattern. I cannot even boot up this device at all. Also the onboard power button blinks as well as the docking station. The screen does not work, no sign of this thing going live. Just blinking leds and dead device.
Q2.
Whenever I update Windows, it kills the docking station. It works at random moment it would like to let me use my docking station.
I have a very important project inside the laptop and the files must be accessed as soon as possible for my work. It is totally my fault for storing such data without any backup while using this so called “professional workstation” device. Should have expected this thing might go wrong at any moment. New Lesson learned: “Never store anything important on your HP devices. Always be ready for this thing to go wrong”
So, what should I do with this product to keep this thing working? It just blinks power leds and does not boot at all. I have tried on board power supply, No external monitor, just this laptop only with zero accessories, no docking station. I think I have tried any possible combinations that I can think of. So I am asking here.
I am literally sick and frustrated of this device not working as intended always.

you do not say what dock do you have connected, and if it is thunderbolt dock, which version, single usb-c cable or dual usbc/barrel connector cable into the laptop
What is connected to the docking station?
are you also saying that you have a monitor connected to the laptop AND the dock connected to the laptop?
Have you run HP Image Assistant to update BIOS and drivers?
