HP ZBook Firefly G9

I use a HP ZBook Firefly G9 laptop for work.  My company provided a Dell WD19S dock for use at home.  This worked fine for over a year.  I would leave my laptop on and connected to the dock all weekend.  

 

My work pushed out a firmware update that updated my G9 from 01.05.00 Rev A to 01.11.05 Rev A.  Since then, after about a day or 2 being connected to the dock, the G9 stops charging, causing it to hibernate.  It still recognizes its own power but won’t charge.  In addition the Ethernet on the dock periodically disconnects and reconnects which knocks me off the VPN. 

 

To get out of this situation I either have to reboot the laptop or power cycle the dock.
