ZBook 17 G5

Because it is locked, I started new one.

I had exactly the same problem and found answer, so maybe it will help someone.

Answer lies in Z Family Reference Guide on page 12.  It looks that ZBook G5 supports only M.2 SATA SED (Self-Encrypting Drives) drives. According to specification, non-SED M.2 SATA drivers are not supported at all. So,  as 1 TB drive (Samsung M.2 SATA 860 EVO) is regular non-SED drive, it is not recognized at all and there no solution for it.

I solved this problem by buying Samsung 970 EVO 1 TB drive, which is M.2 NVMe drive. ZBook supports NVMe drives up to 2 TB.
