HP Zbook 17 G3 and Zbook Thunderbolt dock (P5Q61AA)
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My Thunderbolt dock is mostly working, but any time an update is installed and I'm advised to reboot to finish installation, my laptop will freeze at the "Please Wait" screen. I have to power it off, undock, and power it up again. It then boots to Windows with no issue and I can reconnect the dock. I'll have the same issue the next time updates are installed.

The issue appears to happen with both Windows updates and Softpaq driver updates. I'm on Windows 10 version 1803.

I've updated all the firmware, the Zbook BIOS, and everything else recommended. Actually, I've updated it all through a few versions since I've had the laptop and dock.

Has anyone seen this? Is there a diagnostic startup or a way to log what is happening when it hangs?

Please, make sure the all components are updated... including BIOS and both dock and Zbook thunderbolt firmware

you do not mention if you are using the TB 3 dock g1 and of the new G2 (cube shape)
