All I want to do do is to close account so that I can open a new one in another Country, in order that I can then get instant ink. Went down the rediculous private message route and am still waiting for an answer. Would it be better I wonder, to buy a printer from another company. Been with HP for many years, but this is rediculous.

I just want a button that says CLOSE ACCOUNT.

I think Rachel571 that you haven't understood me. I have moved from US to France. In order to sign up for instant ink in France I have to set up an account in France. The only way to do that, is to delete the account in the US. Having been unable to do that which is extremely annoying, I have used my wife's email address to sign up in France. She will now get any emails that are sent to us. I'm afraid HP isn't the only one to make life dificult when you want to move Country, but I'm learning to live with it.

so problem sort of solved.

cheers,

Brian

Hi @BrianMcCreery,

Thank you for your response. I understand your concern. I request you to cancel the account in the USA. Click Here

Once done, We need to perform a regional reset. Once the reset is done You need to enroll in the Hp instant ink in France.

To perform a printer region reset you need to meet the following conditions:

1. The printer should be connected using a printer USB cable to the computer.

2. You need to have the printer full feature software installed on your computer.

3. You need to have all the cartridges either from the region/country from where the printer was purchased originally or the new region/country to which you want to reset it to.

4. Make sure HP Smart App is installed too.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

I had finally a reply to the request for deletion of my account in US. Thankfully that is now complete and we can move on. I now have my email address back in my possession. Just another step down the road of moving Country's.

Hi @BrianMcCreery,

Thank you for your response. since the US instant ink account is deleted let's proceed with the regional reset. Please make sure you are using new region genuine HP ink cartridges.

I can surely help you with the regional reset. If the above criteria are met.  I request you to please continue with the steps below.

Please follow the steps below.

1.) Connect the printer via USB (usually you need it in case your internet connection is not strong or may have downtime while performing it. You can skip it and perform the process under wifi as well)

2.) Launch HP Smart and click the product ink levels to open the Supported Cartridges window.

3.) Clicking ink levels in HP Smart

Hold down the CTRL and SHIFT keys (Cmd + Space in MAC) and then right-click on the empty area to the right of the ink levels.

4.) Clicking to the right of the ink levels

The Set New Regions window opens.

please share a screenshot of this window with me

Use the "Copy to Clipboard" feature to paste the values in a private message..
