hp probook g4
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I recently acquired this HP ProBook 450 G4.

However, it will not boot past the POST screen.  The only thing is does is show the HP logo, and a text message at the bottom left of the screen:  P85 Ver. 01.04  04/12/2017

And it does nothing else.  Won't pay attention to ESC for pause setup, won't boot from any USB or internal HDD, or CD.  Just does nothing.

Anyone got some tips on what the malfunction is?  Would like to get it going again.

Some people say that they have luck powering the laptop off, then holding the physical mute button (top right) and the power button for around 30 seconds to do a hard reset.

I now have multiple of the same laptop stuck on the splash screen as well but the hard reset doesn't work for me. BIOS version 01.03
