Leaving the power cable plugged reduces the number of charge cycles necessary to recharge the battery.

 

Leaving the power connected might translate into longer battery life; there are other factors and not all of them are influenced by leaving the power connected.

 

 

There is no harm in running the computer "always on power".

 

There may be benefit (reduced number of times the battery must be charged).
