HP ProBook 440 G7
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I was setting up a new HP ProBook 440 G7 and I set up the three Sparekey security questions but didn't know that I accidently set the bios password without realizing it. I can't get past the bios password screen when trying to start my laptop. Trying to press F7 when booting the PC doesn't seem to work. Is there another or better way to use Sparekey to reset bios password? Please help?

Hi, unfortunately, there is nothing we can do to help you, since HP will no longer supply the required SMC.bin file that is used to clear the BIOS password.

That was the only way it could be done.

HP issued this document recently...

Also the forum rules were amended on 1 March 2019, which no longer allow HP to help with removing passwords.
