my hp 250 G5 notebook overheated and my charger doesn't work as well as the pc is having power issue

hp 250 G5 notebook pc
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

every time i put in the charger that was melted my pc lighting setting goes from 10% to 60%, it's a repeated cycle.

the inside of the charger is black from the melting. when i put it in instead of charging it discharges.

Hi,

It sounds like you should first replace the charger. 

That the lighting is higher when plugged in is quite normal. You can check the settings in "Power options"

 

Why would you insert a melted charger in the PC?
