the sound turns off when I connect my probook to a tv

Hello.

 

HDMI carries audio and video; Windows will configure the TV as an additional audio output and probably automatically makes it the default output as well. If your TV volume slider for the HDMI input is muted you will not hear anything. You can change the audio output device back to your laptop at either in Windows Settings -> System -> Sound, or via the taskbar icon:
