HP ZBook 17 G6
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have a Core x Chroma eGPU attached to a thunderbolt port. After much trouble setting it up I now have it working fine, with one last problem. If the Core X eGPU is switched on then the Zbook won't boot up, just a black screen on power up and the fans working hard. If I switch off the eGPU and reboot it works fine. Researching www it appears I'm not alone on this and a few solutions were offered, one of which was to change the boot order in the bios (say read C drive before thunderbolt), but this appears not to be possible with the bios set up I have, HP Surestart. Another was to make sure DMA Protection was disabled, but it wasn't enabled in my bios. I've seen one comment on here that the HP laptop "thinks" it is an HP Omen Accelerator, can't find anything and hangs, but no fix for this other than HP need to sort out and update their bois settings to fix it ...mmm? if they are bothered how long will that take?

Does anyone know a fix for this please. Thanks
