After Upgrading NVIDIA Quadro FX 3800 Driver on HP Z820 - Windows 10 is not showing on display port

I've used FX-series Quadros (FX 580, FX 1800, FX 4800) on Windows 7 system without problems, but never tried one with Windows 10.  I received my first Windows 10 system only two days ago and, anyway, it's a laptop: HP ZBook 17.

Try the easiest solution first: The first step is to check that the version installed is for Windows 10 and not Windows 7 or 8.1.  Consider reinstalling the card and make certain it is absolutely cleanly seated.  Check that the DP port is clean and the cable is installed in the DP port closest to the motherboard. Then reinstall the driver,  making certain to select the "clean install" option.  The problem may be a conflict with the overwritten previous driver. If the problem persists, do a search for previous FX 3800 drivers.  NVIDIA may even offer previous versions.

If I might suggest, the FX3800; while a top level Quadro in 2009- and expensive new at nearly over $800!- is undoubtedly robbing a z820 of a lot of it's potential. The FX 3800 has 192 CUDA cores and the Passmark average 3D benchmark is 839.  The best 3D score for a z820 with an FX3800 is 970. Many of  today's workstation programs are configured to benefit from CUDA acceleration.

The minimal GPU I'd recommend as appropriate to a z820 is a Quadro K4200 4GB with a 3D mark of 4476 ( Best on z820 = 4917)= and 1344 CUDA cores.  The power rating of the K4200 is almost identical to the FX3800. If the budget is sufficient, consider the current Quadro P2200: 5GB, 1280 CUDA, and a 3D = 9624. If the budget is restricted, the Quadro K2200  4GB is also quite good.  I have a Dell Precision 390 (Xeon X3230 2.6GHz) of 2007- originally a Quadro 550 Passmark = 586 , but now has a Quadro K2200, with 640 CUDA and a 3D of 3408 ( Best on z820 = 3963).  That K2200 cost only $65 on Ebahhh.

Let us know what happens

After Upgrading NVIDIA Quadro FX 3800 Driver on HP Z820 - Windows 10 is not showing on display port

The issue was resolved by backtracking all changes I have made - the main change I made was that I did BIOS upgrade to v03.96 and then upgraded NVIDIA Quadro FX 3800 Drivers. Then doing reboot the computer hangs when showing the Windows logo. Basically I removed the keyboard and mouse that is USB based then computer boots correctly. The funny thing if I plug-in the keyboard and mouse in the front USB ports computer works perfectly,  if I plug-in the keyboard and mouse in the back USB ports the computer hangs at the Windows logo. Another thing if I now use the front USB ports for external HDD it does not recognize it. This main culprit is the BIOS v03.96.
