Recently, Intel released the new firmware (E2010480) for 900P/905P Optane SSD. The firmware fixed some operational and security issues. The HP-customized Intel 905P Optane SSD is installed in my HP Z4 G4 Workstation.
The Intel firmware upgrade tool does not support OEM SSD. The firmware naming of OEM SSD is also different from original SSD. Is any plan of releasing new firmware for that?

just because intel found and fixed some things in their optane ssd firmware does not mean those issues exist on the HP firmware which is different (how different nobody knows) what is known is that they differ sufficiently so that cross flashing firmware packages will not work
major OEMS are reluctant to update ssd firmware unless the issue is a major one, as any update may also introduce new bugs which is why workstation class systems do not get updates like this until any new firmware has been thoroughly tested and approved by HP and the software package vars who make applications for workstations
since HP has so far not released any firmware fixes, it appears that the current firmware has no known major issues which need fixing..........which is a good thong
