Hi , I have a Z6 G4 with a single silver Xeon 4112 CPU and an Nvidia P4000 GPU. I want to upgrade away from the server style CPU to the i9 family of Intel CPUS and install an i9-10900k and an RTX 3090. Can you tell me if this will work with the motherboard?

James9999,
The short answer is no.
The Xeon Silver 4112 CPU is Socket FCLGA3647 whereas the i9-10900K is Socket FCLGA1200. The Xeon Silver has a bit more than 3X the number of pins.
The search was not exhaustive, but it appears possible that no HP system used the i9-10900 K version , the KF, or X versions. There are a very few HP Z2's tested on Passmark with the non- K version running in an HP Mini workstation Z2 up to 5GHz Turbo. A system called "mini" though doesn't read as RTX 3090 compatible both in terms of size and power consumption.
As Monty Python used to say, "And, now for something completely different."
