What you may not know is that there are two different versions of the Z400, and that the second newer better faster version is easy to identify. If your Z400 has only 4 memory sockets it is a Z400 v1. If it has 6 then it is a Z400 v2.
If you let us know that issue first we can go from there. The v2 can run newer better faster processors rather than the old ones shown in earlier Z400 v1 documents. That is why this is important to know first.

Have not heard back from the original poster so we can't go over processor upgrades to a better processor. However it would be easy to get a used processor that is identical to the one you currently have. You unscrew the heatsink/fan from its mount over the processor. Best to do that a few turns at a time for each of the 4 screws. With that off you can release and rotate up the open topped stainless steel retainer over the processor so you can lift that out. The processor has a stainless steel top plate with laser etching on it which includes a "sSpec code" such as SLBES. Assuming that is what yours has on its lid you look that up on eBay, sort by price and shipping lowest, and pick a respected seller. One of those new from Intel went for over 1000.00 USD originally. One is selling for 13.99 on eBay now.
You may want to hire this project out to a good local computer shop if you don't have much computer experience... The processor you receive usually needs to be cleaned of old thermal paste and new paste applied.
Good luck to you.
