HP Z440 Xeon workstation
Microsoft Windows 8.1 (64-bit)

Hello,

I am using nvidia quadro k2200 and want to upgrade my HP Z440 workstation with the above mentioned GPU.

Is RTX 2080 Ti  compatible with Xeon Z440 workstation (700 w power supply)?

Thank you ...

Why not use this sites "search" function and look at some of the numerous posts which have previously been asked/replied to that are related to your question  "z440 1080" ,.....doing so is quick and easy, and should provide you with what you are looking for

Sravan_Csk,

As the GTX 1080 Ti is rated as a 250W GPU and the NVIDIA recommended minimal power supply is 600W, the 1080 Ti may be used in a z440.

https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/geforce/products/10series/geforce-gtx-1080-ti

_In an HP z440  (Xeon E5-1860 v4), the highest Passmark 3D mark for the GTX 1080 Ti is 14172, where the average is 14244.

Similarly, the RTX 2080Ti required minimal power supply is 650W.

https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/geforce/graphics-cards/rtx-2080-ti

The NVIDIA.com site as above will always provide listings for power rating and the minimum power supply size.

_There are no listings on Passmark for RTX 2080 Ti performance in a z440. However, the highest 3D mark for any z440 is 14766 and that using an RTX 2070.

In a cost/performance context, consider an RTX 2070 Super, a version having a blower (single fan) cooler.  There is a new ASUS:

> that runs higher clock speeds. If an RTX 2070 is faster than a GTX 1080Ti in a z440 the RTX 2070 Super should approach RTX 2080 performance for $200 less cost.

Especially if the system is running ray-tracing rendering, the software will continue to be refined to utilize RTX technology.
