Could anybody tell me if I could upgrade the PSU of my pc using the following cable and a 500w PSU 24 pin? Thanks.

go back and reread carefully the supported models nowhere does it list the "elite 8200" or Elite 8xxx only other models

it's not just the wiring,..............see that large black heat shrinked section? that's a small circuit board that creates a required voltage from a existing one (inverter) and this board is different between adapters

you can send a email directly and ask comeap support if their adapter will work

From the comeap amazon link:

Compatible with HP Z200/Z210/Z220/Z230/Z240 server workstation, HP ProDesk 600 G1 SFF/600 G2 SFF/690 G1 SFF, HP EliteDesk 800 G1/800 G2/600 G1/880 G1 SFF/TWR, HP Compaq SFF/MT/CMT Series(4000 4300 6000 6005 6060 6080 6200 6280 6300 6305 6380 8000 8080 8100 8180 8200 8280 8380)(NOTE: The listed types are only for your reference. Please check the image 4th to confirm if it works with PC type.);

these models are possibly using the same/correct type motherboard that's in your Elite 8200 keep in mind some adapters have issues with fan errors or powered resets

HP Compaq SFF/MT/CMT Series(4000 4300 6000 6005 6060 6080 6200 6280 6300 6305 6380 8000 8080 8100 8180 8200 8280 8380

the link i provided says it only works with the Elite 8xxx/6000 models using a specific motherboard  number and for other computer models to click the posted link  so i'm inclined to pick the one that specifically says full 8200 support with no fan errors

well first of all you can't buy/use what's not available..................next the product description does NOT mention the HP Elite 8000 series systems as supported so the answer appears to be no it does not

however adapters do exist for your model

https://www.moddiy.com/products/HP-Compaq-Elite-8200-CMT-PSU-Main-Power-24-Pin-to-6-Pin-Adapter-Cabl...

and reading the description it shows a link to a different adapter for the models your link mentions, so it appears that the Elite 8000 series pwr adapters are unique to these models only

 is this not my computer in the description list? I’m not being sarcastic or anything but I just wanna check as on the cable check it advises my wires match up exactly. Thanks again

Just ordered the part you suggested as it’s quite a long delivery to the uk. Will update on effectiveness when I have it. Just to check though is there anything specific I should be looking for in a new psu or would a standard one be ok? I have found this one but want to be sure before I order... https://www.amazon.co.uk/JUSTOP-Power-Supply-120mm-Cooling/dp/B071RQRPFR

name brand power supplies are almost always a better buy than no name ones as name brand companies usually care about their reputation stay away from those 700 watt 30.00 ebay no name units

last read online power supply reviews from sites that actually have the equipment to test power supplies

Justtop is not a brand sold here (USA) so i can't comment on it other than to say it appears to be a rebrand of a existing model from a unknown maker in other words justop does not design/make pwr supplies, they buy a unit from some mfgr and slap their label on it,.......i doubt it can actually supply anything near 500 watts  the amazon reviews are not kind

not something i would really recommend sight unseen,....... if you can stick with tier I/II pwr supply makers who actually make/sell pc supplies
