I'm planning to purchase some workstation HP Z4.
according to the customize site HP Z4 G5 Tower Workstation - Customizable
My consider spec as below:
Intel Xeon W3-2423 4.00G 15MB 6 cores 110W CPU |
32GB (2x16GB) DDR5 4800 DIMM ECC REG 1CPU Memory |
NVIDIA T1000 8 GB 4mDP Graphics |
Z Turbo 1TB PCIe-4x4 2280 TLC M.2 Solid State Drive |
2TB 7200RPM SATA 3.5in Enterprise |
2TB 7200RPM SATA 3.5in Enterprise 2nd |
HP Z4 G5 Fan and Front Card Guide Kit |
But I don't know how to select a suitable power supply for this spec, there are 3 options:
- HP Z4 Tower G5 - 525W (57K34AV)
- HP Z4 Tower G5 - 775W (57K35AV)
- HP Z4 Tower G5 - 1125W (57K33AV)
Could you please give me advice on select a most suitable power supply for my spec ?
Thanks in advance!

I'd go for the middle one... 750W. I'd be tempted to go for the highest wattage one to keep my options open wide for the future but for our needs that would truly be more power that I can imagine we'd ever use. I'd not get the low wattage one.
Good choices on your workstation's options.

while i agree in "SDH's" power recommendation keep in mind that upper end video cards such as some rtx4080 overclocked cards and all 4090 cards will require the top end power supply if you plan on installing a high wattage card in the near future the high wattage supply might be worthwhile to get now as adding one later can be expensive
however as long as your video card option does not exceed a listed hp approved card(s) wattage listed in the hp quickspecs for your model for the midrange power supply your good to go
