Hello,
I am currently trying to create a copy of the following image:
Image-ID: T7X71018 - ThinPro 2Gb x86_64 7.1.0 build 18
BS-Kernel-Version: 4.20.2-hp
Bios-Version: L41 v01.03
The image is being used on a t520-client at work and we ran into the problem, that we could not create a copy with "HP ThinState" (in the system control panel).
I took a picture of the error. It appears every time we try to copy the image.
The process stops right after the tool gives me "Checking Free Disk Space". It just throws the stick out - literally.
If i put the stick in a normal Win10-PC after the fail, there is some copied data on it, but not everything.
After searching for any already-solved problem, i found this:
It is not the same problem, but the solutions led to cleaning and re-formating the usb-stick.
I already tried it with diskpart, formatted it to fat32, and even tried other sticks to be sure it is not the problem.
I am thankful for everyone who can help.
Greetings

Hello Nic,
You have not mentioned which Service Pack you have on the t520. This problem could be with free space in the internal storage of the unit. Please login into root/admin and run the below command in the X terminal. This should expand the storage to the max space on the SSD.
resize-image --no-prompt
I would also like you try installing the latest Service pack on the test unit before you try to capture the image again.

Hello,
i cant find the service pack, so i think it does not have one...?
+ I tried to do the resize-image command, but it seems like nothing happens.
+ I should not put a service pack on the client, because i need this exact configuration.

Service Pack# can be found on system info like the pic below:
Installing SP does not make changes in the configuration. It only patches the files without making changes in the current configuration. If there is a patch fix released for this, installing SP should fix it.
Since you do not have HPDM, you may have to rely on HP ThinUpdate, the standalone tool to download updates and recovery images. Please refer the below link to download Thin update 2.06.22:
For 64bit: https://ftp.ext.hp.com/pub/tcimages/EasyUpdate/Images/ThinUpdateRelease/2_6_22/HPThinUpdate-02.06.22...
You can install this on any normal Windows PC and download the Service pack from the addon section.
If the issue still persist kindly share if any changes were made on the unit apart from configuring your VDI connection.

Thank you for helping. I solved the problem, but in a different way.
I tried to install 7.1 on the t520, hoping i wont have any problems and it seems like to work.
Then i installed 7,2 on a t530, and both seem to work like intended.
