Is there any way to add more cores to this device somehow? I don't want to upgrade. I want to add more.

Assuming you are referring to the HP EliteDesk 800 G3 SFF/TWR platforms, the best processor compatible is the i7-7700K (4-Cores, 8-Threads, 4.20 MHz up to 4.50 MHz, 91-watt TDP).

 

Meaning, the most processor cores you'll ever get in these PCs are 4 cores.
