HP Z420
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I am planning to develop a custom rig based on HP Z420 motheroboard cause I have supported Xeon and ecc ram laying around. Now HP Z420 requires propritary power unit so a conversion to ATA power supply can be easily done by using the conversion cable. However, HP Z420 requires a temperature sensor to be connected to the motherboard. So instead of purchasing one we can make one using the following bullitin:

I would  like to know what is the connector end of the sensor wire that is attached to the motherboard called? The female end to which sensor power and speaker cables are attached. Because I just wanna buy that connector and attach the transister to bypass the beeps that result when there is no thermal sensor present.

I believe the z420 temp sensor is a lot more obvious so you can simply take it off the stock cables and plug it in where it needs to be.

I know but what is the female connector end attached to the sensor loom which connects to the motherboard called? I can simply purchase that to properly attach the sensor wires to the motherboard

Also to add. I dont have that connector or sensor for that matter. I will need to purchase them so instead of purchasing the loom I want to build it and thats why i need to know what kind of connector is it and does it have generic name?

Unfortunately, I don't know.  I've not attempted to take mine apart.  But apparently the part number is 662876-002 or 663072-002 and can be had for about $13 shipped so you might just grab one so you've got the real deal to reverse-engineer.
