Hi, @Avalonhaze

dc7900:

dc7800:

http://www.nordykassociates.com/pdf/dc7800%20QuickSpecs.pdf

The biggest difference is the dc7900 USDT can take 8 GB of memory while the dc7800 can only take 4.

The dc7900 can take up to the E8600 processor and the dc7800 the E8500.

dc7800 has the intel series 3 chipset and the dc7900 has the intel series 4 chipset (which is why it can take more memory).

I do not own either model so I am unfamiliar with the BIOS settings.

I do own both a dc7800 and dc7900 CMT and the BIOS settings are almost identical.

The dc7900 BIOS adds support for stringent security which if enabled, prevents the BIOS password jumper from clearing the password.

The last BIOS update for the dc7800 added AHCI support which was a nice addition.

I used to have the BIOS set to RAID but now I changed it to AHCI, since I only use it with one solid state drive.

Both models will run W10 and I found that the W7 audio driver works better on W10 than the generic one that Microsoft installs.  Both models use the same audio driver.
